What's included
Your lesson will begin with a pre flight briefing from your BMAA instructor. He has had over 3000 hours of flying experience on various aircraft, so you'll be in safe hands! Then you will climb into the back seat and get ready for take off.
You will be completing exercise 3 of the NPPL syllabus: Aircraft Familiarisation. If the weather conditions are suitable, you will be offered control of the aircraft. At 80mph our open cockpit microlight eats up the miles as you gain a real taste of what flying in a microlight is all about, while enjoying fantastic views over the Thames Estuary and Essex countryside
Back on the ground, your flight will be logged and will count towards the minimum 25 hours you need to complete your National Private Pilot's License, should you wish to continue learning.
The airfield has a great cafe and viewing area, so feel free to bring friends and family, and don't let them forget their cameras! You will be taking off directly in front of them, and there will be plenty of opportunities for photos.
A personalised certificate with your photo is available in return for a nominal donation to 'Flyability', helping disabled people learn to fly. You can also buy a DVD of your flight which is filmed from the wing tip of the plane, featuring great footage of you, your aircraft and the fantastic views from the plane.
